Rumi
This is one of my all-time favourite quotations. It is as relevant with friends and family as it is globally.
Rumi was a 13th century Persian poet and mystic. His work is translated into many languages and read widely in both Eastern and Western cultures. If only it were easier for human beings to follow through on what he says and recognise, respect and enjoy our differences.

Napoleon Hill is famous for his mega bestseller ‘Think and Grow Rich’ but this little piece of wisdom is a reminder that however hard life may challenge us, there is always some good that can come from the toughest of situations.
“You can start changing virtually anything and everything about your life by making the choice to live in a framework of happiness and to refuse to let circumstances or conditions or other people determine your state of mind.”
Art Berg
Art Berg was a healthy, fun-loving 21-year old when he broke his neck in a serious car accident. Told he would never walk again or live independently, he confounded his critics by running two substantial companies, becoming the first quadraplegic of his level to race in a 325 mile marathon and independently travelling in his wheelchair to audiences throughout America on speaking engagements. He also married and fathered two children.
And finally, a Japanese proverb which made me smile as I thought of 21st century living …..
