What Can We Expect Next Year?
2009 has been a year of big changes.
You might still be living in the same home and working in the same job or in a similar job as you were twelve months ago.
Or you might have moved on to a new way of life or work.
But, whether you have experienced those moves or not, your attitude to life is unlikely to be the same as it was.
Huge Changes Took Place During 2009
During 2009 you will have seen massive changes in the way we live and work and connect together on the planet.
There have been huge changes in the workplace and in the structure of the society we live in.
Everyone is gradually recognising that large companies and organisations will not continue to grow. They have to become leaner and meaner and trim waste.
Where Will Future Jobs Come From
Future jobs will be created by outsourcing from other companies and from smaller teams and groups of people who will form loose associations with one another.
Potential future entrepreneurs, and self-employed people starting-up, alert to all the changes in society, will seize opportunities to create something new and different which will be right for the future wants and needs of their customers.
Many new forms of jobs, careers and businesses will be created in the next few years.
Many people will have a lot of fun using their creativity and following their heart’s desires to find meaningful and fulfilling work which will, in due course, generate a good income for them.
2009 Was a Year of Much Fear and Anxiety
During 2009 there has been a lot of anxiety and fear.
People have been fearful for their homes, their money, their jobs, their savings and for the massive changes in the way our society is run, many of which do not seem to offer any change for the better.
Large organisations and systems have been forced to their knees. Many are still in a state of chaos. It will take a while for better systems to be put in place.
People’s Values Are Changing
As a result, people are thinking differently about their values. They are considering carefully what is important to them. They are valuing friends and family and the people in their lives more. They are appreciating what they have and not yearning for material things that they do not have. They are becoming more judicious with their spending – no matter how much money they have.
People are buying products that will last. And they are buying and creating experiences and memories which they can share with the people they want to spend time with. They are recognising they have enough ‘stuff’.
They are also waiting for new leaders to come forward – leaders with integrity who have the best interests of the people they are leading at heart.
I believe 2010 will bring more major adjustments to the structures around us. We will see everything becoming less hierarchical. We will begin to think more for ourselves and recognise that each one of us is capable of taking responsibility for our own lives and not waiting for others to make decisions for us.
Greater Planetary Consciousness
Many people will also begin to feel a greater sense of connectedness to each other, no matter who they are or where they live.
Our global financial system is not stable. None of us can know what the environment may have in store for us. We cannot possibly know what the future holds but we do know that the fast pace of change will continue to accelerate.
I think the most important thing for everyone is to focus on being kind and loving to yourself and to those around you.
While there will always be those people who do not have your best interests at heart, the wonderful qualities of so many human beings often shine through when we least expect them.
Human Beings Find it Difficult to Get On with One Another
We need to learn to be more tolerant of our differences. Ideally we would be able to do this without ‘politically correct’ legislation’ which often completely disregards people’s innate common sense.
Human beings have not been created in a way that makes it easy for them to get on with one another. We are often at the mercy of feelings and emotions we do not understand.
Being tolerant and non-judgmental are qualities that few of us naturally possess.
Without those qualities, it is so much harder for our lives to flow smoothly and effortlessly.
When you are kind and loving and accepting of others just the way they are, and when you focus on leading the best possible life that feels right for you and for those around you, you don’t have time to be anxious about what other people are thinking and what the future may have in store.
We Can Have a Better World
And as more and more people think about the welfare of others, there is more trust among groups, more fairness, more sharing, more caring. More love. People may have their differences but everyone is working towards the common good.
And when all those things are happening, then better decisions can be made which affect the future of all of us in the most positive and beneficial way.
I wish you a happy, healthy, prosperous, fulfilling and very happy new year.
