UNSEEN WORLDS – HEALING ENERGY
We are all so much more than we think.
I have just been learning to be a reiki healer. Reiki is a hands-on-healing technique which generates a lovely warm gentle energy which flows through the body and generates feelings of wellbeing. It was discovered in the early part of the twentieth century by a Japanese priest who was then able to train other people to use it. It feels an amazing privilege to me that I, who have never shown any healing ability whatsoever, can go on a course and receive this beautiful healing energy which I am now able to share with others and which may help them feel better, both physically and emotionally. It is truly a gift from an unseen world.
Recent research is bringing science and spirituality much closer as scientists recognise what spiritual people have always known. Every human being has a range of sensory abilities, far beyond what we have been taught in our Western education system.
And what is exciting about the times we live in is that people are beginning to recognise how many wonderful things can happen, even if we don’t always understand why.
Just this morning a builder working in my home and seeing a few of my books on healing with energy, told me how his mother had helped to heal his father from cancer by placing her hands on his body every day during his illness, and sending him healing. Today he is doing fine and fully recovered.
We don’t know exactly why this works but what we do know is that it can work. A huge body of evidence has built up now which records how healing people in this way is contributing to their recovery and wellbeing. Even if you don’t believe in it yourself, there will be many people around you who have witnessed the improved health and wellbeing of those who have experienced it.
Why is all this happening now? Why are so many individuals wanting to develop healing skills? I believe it is a natural human response to the world around us which on some days seems to grow increasingly hostile. Nightly on our television screens we see more and more people suffering, whether because of natural disasters, earthquakes, famines and tornadoes or more local violent events.
Individual compassion, not just for people’s own loved ones but for all those who are suffering, is being awakened and rather than feeling powerless, sending and sharing healing energy is empowering. It is something that each individual can contribute. And they can send their energy, not only to people they know, but also to the situation itself.
