This is my launch blog. I work as a keynote speaker on entrepreneurship and future trends.
I like inspiring people to think and feel more positive about their lives.
I have a background in publishing, having been owner and publisher of Piatkus Books for more than 25 years.
Piatkus Books specialised in lifestyle and fiction titles as well as publishing a range of general non-fiction.
My personal particular interest was in growing the company and working with colleagues to market and promote the books of our authors, and, in particular the personal development and spiritual writers who Piatkus published.
I am also interested in furthering the position of women.
If a country is not properly using the talents and skills of half of its working population, it can hardly play to its strengths.
When I speak to audiences, I talk about change and reinvention and future trends and what these mean for people at work and at home .
There are new changes every day in our lives and they are arriving at such a fast pace that it can be overwhelming.
Managing change and learning new skills to do this is likely to be one of the great challenges of the 21st century.
I will be commenting on people and companies who are managing change well and telling you about their methods and I will be sharing new ideas as I discover them – new ways of working, new kinds of jobs, new industries, new ways of living our lives and as much positive helpful news as I can find to offset the gloom which people sometimes tend to get engulfed in.
I love change and variety and I enjoy it when every day is different.
Occasionally, of course, it all becomes overwhelming. I will let you know about that too.
I hope you will enjoy my blogs and I look forward to hearing from you if you have any suggestions for people and companies with good ideas which tap into the changes in consciousness which we are seeing all around us.
The next few years are critical to the future of the world. Our society is the first civilisation which has had the extraordinary good fortune to experience the massive changes in everyday technology which has affected so many lives throughout the world.
Computers today are ten times as powerful as they were ten years ago.
Our lives are dominated by machines and what they can do for us every day. No wonder we sometimes get overwhelmed.
But we are also very fortunate in having the opportunity and the experience to live in these very exciting times.
We just have to learn to be comfortable with change.
